Agri Machines Connected to Tractors

Module Description/Aims

The tractive force will be explained and tested on our farm , different possibilities will be used (pressure of pneumatics, mass, hitch position….) to understand how to select specific tools how to design efficient tractor/tools configurations.
Our power bench will be used in order to understand characteristics and performances of a standard tractor, and to analyse the cartography of different types of engines (Stage 4 and 5).
There will be an emphasis on the systems, units, and components used on agricultural and construction plant tractors and mobile machines.
Farm machinery professionals who work with our school will participate in special purpose courses.

Teaching & Learning Strategies

This module involves the development of competence in both theoritical and practical skills. Practical work will be carried out in our specialized workshop and on our farm.
Lectures will be delivered using Prepared Handouts, White Board, Overheads, PowerPoint Presentations.
Final examination will be given to assess learning.
Student will have to present some technical documentation to an examining board.

Assessments

  • Class Exam;
  • Problem-based Case Scenario;
  • Presentation;

Students who do not possess a passing grade or the required attendance at the semesters end will be required to sit a computer based exam. In the event a student fails module due to not meeting 80% attendance at practical/workshop sessions outside of extenuating circumstances, then repeat attend is required at next available offering of the module.
