The Master's plan spans 296 hour of lectures and exercises and 8 hours of meetings with the main partner companies over the weekends of an eight-month period.
Lessons are given on Friday afternoons (2pm-6pm) and on Saturdays (9am-1pm/ 2pm-6pm). All Master’s lessons will be in presence (School of Engineering and Architecture, Viale del Risorgimento, 2 - 40136 Bologna), save for students living farther than one hour of travel to Bologna, who are offered the option to attend via Teams.
Note that remote attendance must be synchronous with lectures, with mandatory use of turned-on webcam; these requirements are to be satisfied to make presence hours count towards the minimum required for being admitted to the final exam (80% of the total).
Mandatory attendance: 80%
Calendar (subject to small amendments):
Many breaks, typically on Fridays, will be spread across the whole course to allow re-scheduling lessons in case of need and to ease the preparation of intermediate tests.
Structure: 11 modules + 1 seminar/workshop + meetings with partner companies
Intermediate tests: at the end of each module, the candidates will take an exam to ascertain their learning outcomes. The results of these tests are not formally binding, thus, a limited number of skipped or failed tests would not jeopardize the success of the course. However, they will be fundamental for the exam commission to form a judgement of the candidate, thus, their outcome will influence the final grade and in extreme cases a large number of skipped or failed tests will preclude admission to the final exam.
Final exam: it will take place mid-October 2027 as a discussion of internship or project work outcomes. The result, on a 30-mark scale, will take into account the whole course.
