At the end of each module, a test will be administered to assess the knowledge acquired. This test will be proposed and evaluated by the module's faculty, who will assign a grade out of 30.
The exam modalities (for example, written exam with open-ended or closed-ended questions, oral exam, discussion of a small project assigned in advance, etc.) are decided independently by the faculty responsible for each module and communicated promptly.
The dense nature of the curriculum does not allow for multiple exam sessions or make-up exams.
The exams are not formally mandatory, so a limited number of absences or insufficient results will not jeopardize the program. However, the Scientific Committee reserves the right to deny admission to the final exam (and consequently, to deny the degree) to any student who accumulates a number of absences or insufficient results exceeding 30% of the exams administered.
The exam dates will be published on the standard "Studenti On Line" career management system. Registration for the exams one intends to take is mandatory on the same platform, where it is possible to view the results afterwards.
The activities carried out during the internship or project work must be reported in writing.
There are no set length or format limits for the report.
For guidance only, a meaningful document should typically sit between 30 and 60 pages, or 45,000 to 90,000 characters, including figures, tables, and code.
The final exam is mandatory: it must be taken and passed to obtain the qualification.
The final exam will take place approximately in the first half of October 2027, in the form of a presentation and discussion of the coursework before an examination committee appointed by the Scientific Committee. It is warmly advised, albeit not mandatory, to support the oral presentation with slides.
According to necessity, the exam could be arranged to be taken in person or online.
To be admitted to the final exam, students must:
A postponement of the report submission deadline and the exam discussion date may be requested if necessary, for example, due to a slowdown in the progress of the internship or project work; in any case, the exam must be completed no later than the end of the calendar year 2027.
The examination committee has the sole discretion in assigning the final grade, in a scale out of 30; the guidelines state that the entire academic career should be taken into account, calculating the score starting from the average of the midterm exam grades, plus an increase in the range [0..3] points, based on the quality of the work reported and presented.
