Target

The Master's Degree aims to train technicians specialized in the design and management of urban and regional mobility in the road, rail and airport sectors.

Professional profile

The II level master wants to train the following professionals:
• project manager for projects and maintenance of the infrastructural heritage of cities, metropolitan areas, unions of municipalities;
• mobilty manager for cities, institutions, companies able to use and exploit innovative techniques for transport management.

Functions

The technician specialized in the design and management of urban and regional mobility in the road, rail and airport areas will be able to:
• develop and organize an Urban Sustainable Mobility Plan (PUMS);
• verifying, planning and improving urban accessibility (congestion reduction, improvement of local public transport, accessibility of people and goods, integration between different mobility systems);
• perform the functions of "Mobility manager" in companies, institutions and consortia;
• designing innovative solutions in the field of "greening design" (the design of green not only for ornamental purposes but as a design solution for limiting emissions and pollutants on the road).

Learning outcomes

The technician specialized in the design and management of urban and regional mobility in the road, rail and airport areas will be able to:
• Design road, railway and airport infrastructures with green and environmentally friendly materials to promote recycling in the perspective of CAM;
• Design and monitor intermodal nodes (design and management for sustainable transport nodes: logistic chain, temporal and spatial integrated services, customer oriented solutions and communication);
• Analyze and improve urban road safety (reduction of road accidents through planning actions, improvement of network service, ITS systems, participatory processes for promoting safety);
• Design with innovative methods "cycle path and greenways";
• Conducting sustainable mobility services analysis: national and local policies, strategies and measures, sustainable transportation for tourism, smart and integrated mobility services, shared mobility;
• Introduce innovative systems in urban mobility: smart city, circular city and IOT, ITS approach for sustainable mobility, Electric cars and recharging systems, Autonomous vehicles.
