Organized from the University of Bologna, the International Master in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) is designed for gynecologists who wish to advance their skills to enable the performance of anatomically-based, endoscopic surgeries in a broad range of gynecologic patients. This unique course aims to provide candidates with a professional qualification and the necessary experience to fully engage with all aspects MIGS including the latest technological advances. In particular, the objective of this Master program is to provide gynecologic surgeons with the theory of minimally invasive surgical procedures, blended with clinical, practical and hands-on foundation of endoscopic surgery.
- Give surgeons an improved knowledge of ergonomics, instrumentation, and basics of energy-based devices and their application to minimally invasive surgery
- Ensure surgeons have an understanding of pelvi-abdominal surgical anatomy, with particular attention to the retroperitoneal anatomy
- Assist the candidates to acquire the skills to perform successful and safe minimally invasive gynecologic surgery in a wide range of gynecological pathologies
- Instruct surgeons in how to identify and treat operative and post-operative complications arising during and from minimally invasive surgery
- Advance surgeons’ ability to review and understand relevant literature about minimally invasive surgery
Applications for the Master Program can be made by European and Non-European citizens, who possess a University Degree in Medicine (or an equivalent qualification) and a Specialization in Gynecology (or an equivalent qualification).
The candidates shall have a good knowledge of English language.
