2nd level Master’s University Programme in “Clinical Endodontics”. An opportunity to experience life in the University of Bologna and to be part of a top Endodontics team.



What do we do differently? Our programme enables you to work in a high level clinical surrounding with hands-on clinical endodontic experience whilst actively playing a role in a fascinating scientific and clinical environment during daily practice and our case-discussion meetings.The University Clinical Department has a high international  reputation for its scientific and clinical level (see ranking list for Dentistry).
The Endodontic Clinical Division is a section of the Bologna University Dental Clinic and was established in 2003.  About 80 treatments are carried out weekly as well as an intense didactic and research agenda. Research is the base of our teachings and our department protocols and treatment plans. Our team of lecturers include clinicians of international importance that have actively being part of international congresses and published scientific articles in the most renowned journals.

The main goal of our programme is to train master students into highly professional practitioners individuals in the following fields: endodontics, surgical endodontics, pediatric endodontics, microscope endodontics – in order to perform 360° endodontics both in the division and in your private practice.
Our masters students acquire the necessary skills to carry out correct endodontic diagnosis and x-ray assessment, CBCT,  manage complex endodontic cases using both rotary and reciprocating systems and the ability to treat surgical endodontic cases using the operating microscope.

It is our intention to shape the future Opinion Leaders in the field of Endodontics, with a sound base concerning: oral microbiology, dental materials and clinical procedures. Capable of competing with the constantly evolving techniques and instruments in endodontics. Thus, being capable of participating as a lecturer as an Opinion Leader at specialized congresses and courses. We want to offer you a SOLID preparation in endodontics.

The programme includes one-week compulsory internships, arranged as follows: February March, June, September, October, November (december when possible) and February. In addition, we offer the possibility to actively participate in the clinical practice in our section (Endodontic Division – Bologna Dental School) performing endodontic treatments with the aid of the operating microscope, simple and complex prosthetic rehabilitation and implantology supervised by the section’s team of university tutors and professors.

Who is the Programme aimed at?

Our Master’s Programme is aimed at dentistry graduates and medicine graduates specialised in dentistry and dental prosthetics who wish to direct their practice in endodontics, primary teeth endodontics, surgical endodontics and implant rihabilitation.

Requisiti di accesso:

LM-41 Degree in Medicine, LM-46 Dentistry and orthodontics or second or single cycle degrees in equivalent subjects, also under previous degree programme systems (DM. 509/99 and the older degree systems "Vecchio Ordinamento").

 

Duration and course credits (ECT)

Annual duration as from February.

60 credits.

 

Fees:

6.000 € divided in two instalments.

 

Attendance:

80% attendance to lectures is compulsory.

 

Selection criteria:

Admission to the programme is subject to the positive assessment following a positive feedback during a personal interview and the appraisal of candidates’ CV.

 

Linguistic skills

Good knowledge of the English language. Basic Italian language may be necessary for patients.

 

Other requirements

Registration with the Italian Medical Register for master students  that partecipate to the clinical activity in the Department of Endodontic- School of Dentistry
