Objectives

The Master’s primary objective is to provide planning and management skills focused on the public administration sector. For this to happen, processes and methodologies is deepened, as well as the programming, reporting and control tools concerning the governance and functioning of a local PA.

The achievement of these results will be guaranteed through:

  •  the choice of a teaching staff specialized in the Public Sector
  • the activation of workshops and seminars with leading figures in the context of the public administration, such as general managers, executives and administrators
  • a planned series of exercises on concrete business cases drawn from the national and international reality.

In particular, the Master focuses on strategies and public policies, to provide students with the ability to define political and managerial choices in reference to their administrative territory. The future managers will have to assist the administrators in the planning and implementation of public policies that can be effective in terms of repercussions on the territory.

Expected learning results

At the end of the training course, the graduate of the Master must demonstrate that they have acquired skills in the management of internal control tools.

Furthermore, you will have to prove that you have a knowledge of the main techniques of management and enhancement of human resources, considering the primary role of the latter in the administrative activity.

Professional profile

Master's students will obtain specific knowledge of management and corporate governance, required to manage the organizational complexity that a public institution must be able to face today. The professionalization of the PA is increasingly required due to all the recent regulatory and organizational changes concerning the dynamics of the institutional structures of the territory.

The Master intends to enhance both the top figures responsible for organizational areas or sectors, and the management staff, with the aim of acquiring a strong aptitude for the use of new levels of governance of the territory.

Target

The Master is mainly aimed at:

  • employees of the PA sector (administrators, managers and officials);
  • recent graduates who aspire to join the management staff of local authorities or public service companies or in organizational positions,
  • freelancers (such as chartered accountants, auditors and business consultants) who intend to develop specific and innovative managerial skills to help improve the management of the "res publica".
